Adrián García-Rodríguez

Adrian has a strong background in field ecology in the Tropics (various lines in herpetology, from taxonomy to behavioural ecology) and expertise in quantitative and spatial ecology. He is deeply interested in understanding the deep-time processes that have shaped geographic patterns of biodiversity and evaluate the contemporary pressures (e.g. emerging diseases, biological invasions and climate change) that threatens biodiversity at different spatial scales in the fate of global change.

David Umhauer

Is passionate about sustainable forestry, climate adaptation, and biodiversity conservation - and like most ecologists, he loves being outdoors and working in the field. David is interested in combining this with quantitative approaches: data science, remote sensing, and modeling to explore complex ecological questions and develop tools that can scale - whether for forest monitoring, conservation planning, or climate-smart management. Marcelo Araya Salas

His research aims to understand the factors that have shaped behavior across both cultural and evolutionary timescales and the potential macro-evolutionary consequences of these processes. To explore these questions, Marcelo studies the communication systems of various taxa (i.e. [hummingbirds, wrens, bats), with a particular focus on neotropical species. His research combines single-species behavioral studies, comparative phylogenetic analyses, and custom data analysis through scientific programming.
